Customers say: Super punctual

"Mike Atwell of J May Home Inspection recently inspected my new condo. He was extremely helpful from our first phone conversation and throughout the inspection. He was very punctual and spent three hours looking closely at every feature of my home. He did not rush, answered my questions and patiently explained how many of the systems and features work. He sent me a detailed, preliminary report within 24 hours, and quickly followed up with a final report by US mail. My realtor said she had never seen such a comprehensive inspection report. Mr. Atwell is a consummate professional, with more than 20 years' experience as a home inspector, building consultant, teacher, former president and VP and active board member of the American Society of Home Inspectors. He is committed to educating and protecting consumers and is driving legislation to do so. Read: [*** Link removed ***] I highly recommend J May Home Inspection."

"He is very punctual, arriving at the house even earlier and starting the inspection promptly. He is very experienced and shared valuable house-maintenance knowledge with us. After the inspection, he emailed me the report the next day. It was a great experience working with him."

"I am an extremely satisfied repeat customer of Beantown Home Improvement. For some time now, my wife and I had been contemplating adding a portico to the front of our home. We had previously used Beantown to replace our roof, attic vents and trim work and were very pleased with the job. So, earlier this year when we ran into owner Jim DelPrete at the Hanover Home Show, I approached him with the idea. Jim is extremely knowledgeable, straightforward and honest. He came to our house, discussed options and importantly listened to and took into account our questions and needs. He soon returned us a detailed proposal including drawings at a reasonable cost. We readily accepted. I can not more highly praise the work done by the construction team. Project manager Brian arrived early every day and always kept me informed about what was being done. The crew, including Patrick, Ian and Scott are all highly skilled professionals, friendly, open to questions and careful of our property. The quality of their work is exceptional, a high point of which is the barrel ceiling. Upon completion they throughly cleaned the area and removed all debris. We love the finished product as it has greatly enhanced the appearance of our home. I highly recommend this company. Thank you Beantown."

"Tim at On Top Roofing was quick to respond to our request for an inspection after we found we had water coming in from around the chimney. While we were initially looking to just have the flashing replaced, my wife and I decided that we were concerned enough about the life left in the plywood that we wanted a roofing company to inspect. On Top Roofing came over and walked us through the integrity of the roof, showed us the delamination happening in the plywood, and presented us with varying options for fixing things: from just fixing the flashing to a complete roof replacement. What was nice was that there was zero pressure on getting the roof overhaul versus just fixing the flashing. On Top was equally willing to do either scenario and informed us that we had a few years left in the roof if we wanted to wait on replacing it.
Ultimately we decided that we were more comfortable with replacing the whole roof. We got a formal quote from On Top, which included new plywood, new shingles, new flashing, adding a ridge vent, and clearing a path for the soffit vents, which were plugged by insulation. Tim dropped off shingle samples for us and once we finally decided on them, we scheduled a timeframe for the On Top team to do the work.
Due to weather and an issue with their supplier being late on the delivery of the supplies for the work, the work ended up starting a day later than expected, but Tim did let us know about it and why, which wasn't an issue. The team showed up the next day just before 8am and worked pretty much straight through the day and into the evening to finish as much of the job as they could. They ended up getting the entire roof stripped, putting up all the new plywood and shingles and flashing, and only had to come back the next day to put our gutters back up. They cleaned our yard of debris and nails (one week later I still have not found a nail in our yard, and I've been looking) and by the time my wife and I got home after the second day we found no evidence that there had ever been workers there other than our brand new roof.
Tim came by that following Saturday to do a walkthrough of what they did, to see what we felt about the job, and to collect payment.
All in all, an excellent experience. We would definitely use On Top Roofing again, and actually may to update our gutters to match our new roof.

"I whole heartedly recommend Airco. Their team was experienced, skillful, friendly and professional throughout the duration of this job, from Joe's first visit to my home to discuss air conditioning options to Derek and Cam's final touches on the duct system. I had complete confidence in them, as well as in Steve, Danny, Frank and Patrick. Additionally, Airco's connections to MassSave and Commerce Bank meant financing and payment options to suit my budget. No more hauling loud and heavy window a.c. units up from the basement. Instead, I am enjoying consistent cooling throughout my home with no noise whatsoever. I am a very happy customer!"

FAQs for home inspection projects in White Horse Beach, MA

Most mobile home inspections require two to three hours to complete properly. The timeline varies based on your home's size, age, and overall condition. Inspectors need sufficient time to examine all major systems, document their findings, and compile their observations.

If the inspector discovers concerning issues that warrant deeper investigation, the process may take longer. For the most thorough assessment, try to schedule your inspection during daylight hours when visibility is optimal.

Pay close attention to water damage indicators like ceiling stains, warped flooring, or musty odors. Structural concerns, including uneven floors, sagging rooflines, or doors that won't close properly, suggest potential foundation issues. Electrical problems such as flickering lights, warm outlets, or outdated wiring present serious safety hazards.

Impromptu modifications or repairs performed without proper permits often signal deeper problems. Windows that don't seal properly may indicate structural shifting or water infiltration.

Yes, professional inspectors evaluate the foundation components and anchoring mechanisms during a thorough assessment. They examine support piers, blocks, and tie-downs for proper installation and condition. The inspection includes checking for appropriate ground clearance and adequate ventilation beneath the home.

Proper anchoring is essential for stability during adverse weather conditions. Foundation issues can affect everything from door alignment to plumbing function, making this a critical part of any comprehensive inspection.

Industry professionals recommend scheduling maintenance inspections every two to three years for manufactured homes. Homes in regions with extreme weather conditions may benefit from more frequent evaluations. Consider arranging an inspection after significant storms or if you notice any unusual changes in your home's condition.

Regular assessments help identify minor issues before they develop into major problems. Maintaining documentation of these inspections also provides valuable records for insurance purposes or future sale considerations.

Search for inspectors with certifications from recognized professional organizations in your state. Specialized training or experience with manufactured housing is particularly valuable for these unique structures. Ask potential inspectors about their familiarity with HUD standards for manufactured homes. Professional membership in industry associations often indicates commitment to ongoing education and ethical standards. Request sample reports from prospective inspectors to evaluate their thoroughness and clarity of communication.

Many insurance providers consider inspection results when determining policy rates and coverage terms. A positive report demonstrating well-maintained systems and the absence of hazards may qualify you for better rates. Addressing issues identified during inspection demonstrates proactive maintenance that insurers often reward. Some companies offer specific discounts for homes that meet certain safety and structural standards.

Contact your insurance provider before scheduling an inspection to understand exactly what documentation they require for potential premium reductions.
